Khao Moo Dang, where all of your pork dreams come true. It is typically my go to once a month (even in the summer) lunch and one of my essential remedies when I'm feeling under the weather. I haven't explored the menu yet as I instantly found my favorite item. I get the 6.2 which features: roasted pork, sausage, pork dumplings and bbq shaved pork shoulder on top of delicious broth, ramen, egg and veggies. My favorite topping is the fried garlic oil that I order on the side and dump in the bowl before the broth. The roasted pork is a bit salty for me but that's not on them, I just am sensitive. It's perfectly crispy though! They also have rice dishes and dry noodle dishes which my husband loves. I can usually find parking out front which isn't the norm for Hawthorne. I've never eaten inside but it's always fun to people watch, slurping up noodles while I wait. The staff is always friendly and quick. I highly recommend stopping in when you need your next noodle fix!

Had the pleasure of dining here(twice) while visiting. The experience was absolutely amazing. I've been to many Thai restaurants and they were absolutely among the best. The flavors were incredible and the portions generous. All of the different meats were delicious in their own way with wonderful texture. The curry noodles were unbelievable and definitely my favorite thing. The rich broth was standout throughout the whole dish and a joy to eat. It's a must try!

One of Portland's finest in my opinion. There was a short line. When you walk in you feel like you're at someone's aunty's house. You order and pay at the counter and the servers bring your food out to you. There's outdoor and in door dining even in the rain (covered) which was perfect because we brought our doggy. I don't like tomyum but this was pretty good I like how unlike other tomyum it's not just sour it's a bit sweet. We also got the khao moo deng and that was very yummy it also comes with a soup on the side. I thought everything was great and would come back if I'm in the area.

My husband and I came here to get some soup after a full week of rain. There's an outdoor and indoor area. Luckily, we were able to find an indoor table. The staff were quick to clean and serve. The area is a bit tight. The food was amazing. The soup was flavorful and I really enjoyed my 6.2 dish. Which is a little bit of most of their meats on egg noodles. I would get this dish again. But I would pass on the teas. The ones we picked didn't leave an impression. Parking is on the street or bus.

Best food I've ever had. I would eat this every single day if I could. I love my girlfriend so much too, she showed me it and it changed my life just like she did.

I love this Thai place. They specialize in Thai BBQ, specifically pork and curry noodles, so they don't have some of the more common thai dishes such as pad thai but everything they do offer is amazing. If you don't eat pork they have a decent amount of vegetarian options. The only downside is that the restaurant is pretty small, seating is limited and its neighborhood parking.

My friend and I were visiting from LA were in desperate need of some comforting asian food. This is a highly recommended spot on TikTok and it was 100% worth the visit. Order at the counter then claim a table. We tried the house curry noodle and the tom kha. The house curry noodle was slightly spicier to me and is made from a khao soi base. The tom kha was delightful. Love the coconut curry base. Both soups came with filling amounts of egg noodles and crispy pork belly. We also shared an order of steamed yu choy. Food came out quick. Can get super packed in the restaurant so consider take out if you can!

After lunching at Khao Moo Dang the other day I noticed my review from back in early 2020 (which may have been my last restaurant visit before covid lockdown) had a rating of only 4-stars. I mean, it was new at the time... but I simply must increase my review to 5-stars. Today I had the Ba-Mhee Tom-Kha #12 and I think I may have found my official "Last Meal" dish. The pork belly is tender and juicy with perfectly crisped edges, and the egg noodles are cooked to perfection - they were never soggy, down to the last bite. I love how the yu choy is cut into smaller pieces, and has the perfect level of bite. But it's the bone broth that has me ooooohhhingg. Tom-Kha generally has a complex, yet soothing flavor. There is a harmonious blend of creamy, sour, salty, spicy, and umami flavors, with a refreshing herbal undertone. There's a lot going on, but everything blends harmoniously. The bone broth base of this elevated version of Tom-Kha isn't overly fatty or salty, but it adds a fullness and richness that makes me very happy. I'm simply in love with this dish. Khao Moo Dang has added really charming outdoor seating in front of the restaurant, as well as a small covered area just to the west of the front door. The interior is rather small, so this certainly increases their capacity. I highly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family visiting Portland for the first time, and strongly urge readers to visit if they haven't already done so. This is one of my Top 3 Favorite Restaurants in Portland!

4.5 stars Ordered steamed dumplings, Tom yum noodle soup and house curry noodles. The dumplings were good and I love the added veggies on it. I think their soup dishes are on the sweeter side than to my liking. I do like the toppings in the house curry noodle which was my dish. This place is quite popular and I'm glad I got a chance to try it. The setting is very reminiscent of street foods in Thailand. I haven't tried anything similar in the Bay Area. I would recommend if you're in the area.
